What you will be doing
- Work with owners, clients, and TLF team members to create architectural designs for a diverse mix of project types. Project size will vary and will include both existing building improvements and new construction.
- Completing General Arrangement and layout drawings for various processes, equipment, and industrial applications.
- Developing, modifying, and/or reviewing drawings according to established standards using AutoCAD and REVIT.
- Responsible for the management of the production of architectural Construction Documents (drawings and specifications).
- Perform all in-house construction administration duties: respond to RFls, review and approve shop drawings, issue bulletins, etc.
- Conducting condition assessments of various building systems including roofing, masonry, stucco, EIFS, wall systems, etc.
- Assist in master planning and conceptual studies for owners and clients.
- Mentor junior architectural staff and assist in professional development.
- Assist with project proposal preparation for the architectural discipline.
- Meet with clients to assess needs and developing an associated project program.
- Perform field work as required for project execution (e.g. taking field dimensions, field visits during construction, etc.).
What we are looking for
- The Industrial Architect will have the ability to successfully execute and lead (or be interested in developing the ability to lead) all phases of design including initial programming, planning, feasibility, scope and concept development, detailed design, construction documentation, and construction administration.
- This individual shall display a solid working knowledge of the International Building Code and construction document preparation (e.g. drawings, graphics, detailing, and specifications). Be able to provide direction to project teams on general code review and life safety plans.
- The ability to visualize and portray design features.
- Effective communication, client management and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in designing with various construction materials.
- Self starter with the ability to work independently and as a team.
- Must have effective organizational skills to manage and design projects simultaneously, completing the work within client guidelines, schedules and budgets.
- A dedication to being thorough and attentive to details.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Excellent verbal/written skills required.
What educational background you will need
- Indiana Registered Architect preferred but not required
